About The Position

The Lease Operator role involves monitoring daily production volumes from oil and gas wells, reporting variances, and inspecting well sites, tanks, and other production equipment to ensure proper operation and safety. Responsibilities also include gauging tanks, accurately recording and reporting production data, and operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various field equipment such as pumping units, compressors, valves, and separators. The operator must ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards, identify and address malfunctions, perform routine maintenance, and coordinate with third-party service providers. Additionally, the role requires maintaining cleanliness of leases and well sites and completing all necessary documentation and reports in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently in remote locations with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with oilfield equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Lease Operator, Pumper, or similar oilfield role
  • Knowledge of artificial lift systems (e.g., rod pumps, gas lift, plunger lift)
  • Experience with SCADA systems and digital reporting tools
  • Basic understanding of environmental and safety regulations

Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily production volumes from oil and gas wells; report variances and abnormalities.
  • Inspect well sites, tanks, and other production equipment to ensure proper operation and safety.
  • Gauge tanks, record and report production data accurately (daily run tickets, meter readings, etc.).
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot pumping units, compressors, valves, separators, and other field equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., DOT, EPA, state regulations).
  • Identify leaks, spills, or equipment malfunctions; take corrective action and notify supervisors as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as greasing, filter changes, and minor repairs.
  • Coordinate with third-party service providers (e.g., haulers, maintenance crews, chemical suppliers).
  • Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of leases and well sites.
  • Complete and submit required documentation and reports in a timely manner.
