About The Position

GWA is an independent, Pre-K-12, independent, college-preparatory school located on 61 beautiful acres in Monroe, Georgia, less than one hour from the state capitol of Atlanta. George Walton Academy seeks tutors who are available as needed during the school day to support students across all divisions and academic classes. Position Overview A Learning Partner at George Walton Academy works closely with the individual student to provide tutoring support during a scheduled study hall time slot. These are part time, independent contractor positions that do not qualify for benefits.
Requirements
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning tools
- Empathetic listener who builds rapport with students and families
- Patient and encouraging approach to working with students
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized instruction based on each student's learning needs and goals.
- Reinforce classroom content by reteaching concepts, reviewing assignments, and helping with practice work.
- Break down complex skills into manageable steps and explain concepts clearly.
- Support skill remediation , such as reading fluency, math foundations, writing skills, or study strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers , specialists, or families to align support with classroom expectations.
