The Learning Management Systems Administrator is the primary administrator for the Learning Management System (LMS) and all other integrated technologies supporting the virtual teaching and learning environment. Oversees the technical administration of the LMS, providing training and support to faculty, staff, and students. Proficient in LMS operations, possess strong technical skills, and have a passion for academic technology and user support. Reports directly to the Manager of eLearning with academic technology liaison responsibility to all institutional stakeholders. LMS Administration: Manages the day-to-day operations of the LMS to maintain integrity and efficiency. Integrates third-party tools and Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) components to enhance the LMS functionality. Optimizes LMS performance, performing regular updates and backups, handling technical issues and coordinating with vendors for advanced technical support. Leverages data in the LMS to report on system usage and student outcomes in collaboration with assessment and institutional research teams. Assists in reviewing accessibility and privacy policies for technologies used in the LMS. Technical Support: Provides advanced technical support for the LMS and academic technologies. Maintains existing processes to data transfer between LMS and campus systems. Resolves tickets, providing timely and effective solutions to LMS-related issues. Manages user accounts, roles, and permissions, ensuring proper access control and data security. Updates and creates technical documentation to support use of LMS. Innovation: Stays current about latest developments in LMS technologies and instructional tools by reviewing release notes and engaging in academic technology communities. Shares insights with the campus community on changes that affect course delivery. Assesses and supports the adoption of new instructional technologies for faculty and students. Supports training related to the LMS or adoption of new technologies. Collaboration: Assists in developing and maintaining LMS-related guidelines and processes that reflect current practices in academic technologies. Advocates for and implements measures to ensure LMS compliance with privacy and accessibility standards. Works with the eLearning team, Campus Technologies and key stakeholders to strategically plan for academic technology initiatives. Participates in institutional committees and working groups to align LMS operations with the institution’s strategic goals and educational objectives.
