About The Position

The Learning Experience Developer I is responsible for supporting the creation of visually compelling, instructionally sound, and performance-driven learning products. This role focuses on translating and developing design plans into engaging, accessible, and brand-aligned learning experiences that support Life Time’s strategic goals. As the learning landscape evolves with increasing emphasis on digital fluency, AI-enhanced personalization, and immersive media, this role is critical in helping Life Time remain at the forefront of innovative, learner-centered design. This is an entry-level position that works under the direction and mentorship of the Learning Solutions Manager and more experienced developers. The role provides hands-on experience with learning tools, production processes, and design standards while contributing to the creation of impactful, high-quality learning products.

Requirements

  • Foundational understanding of instructional design principles and digital learning development
  • Familiarity with tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Creative Suite, and Vyond
  • Demonstrated ability to design or edit visually engaging, learner-centered content under guidance
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Multimedia Development, Education, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of experience (or equivalent internship/project experience) in learning development, multimedia design, or related creative/educational work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting eLearning, video, or blended learning projects
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508)
  • Exposure to AI tools or video-based learning platforms (e.g., Synthesia, Vyond)
  • Understanding of LMS publishing formats such as SCORM or xAPI

Responsibilities

  • Creative Learning Experience Development Assist in translating instructional outlines and design plans into engaging, high-quality learning products using tools such as Articulate Storyline, PowerPoint, Rise, Adobe Creative Suite, Vyond, and Synthesia.
  • Support the development of multimedia elements that enhance learner engagement and meet instructional goals under guidance from senior developers.
  • Apply design principles such as cognitive load theory, visual hierarchy, and information chunking to ensure content is digestible, intuitive, and effective.
  • Development Lifecycle Support the development process from approved design through final product delivery under supervision, ensuring alignment with learning objectives, design standards, and accessibility guidelines.
  • Communicate progress effectively and deliver assigned components that meet established expectations.
  • Standardization & Quality Assurance Apply established development standards, templates, and visual design guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Assist in QA reviews to confirm technical functionality, visual clarity, and instructional effectiveness, escalating issues as needed.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement Explore and test new tools and technologies under guidance to enhance learning experiences.
  • Review LMS reports and learner feedback to identify usability or engagement issues, and recommend improvements.
  • Contribute to team-wide learning by sharing insights and supporting best practices.
