Learning Experience Designer (LXD) Purpose: Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Learning Experience Designer (LXD) in Virginia Beach, VA . In this role you will build modern, effective training experiences for corporate compliance and mission-focused programs. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, resourceful, and tech-savvy, and who enjoys turning complex processes, SOPs, and SME knowledge into clear, engaging learning experiences across digital, instructor-led, and blended formats. You’ll collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), program leaders, and stakeholders to design training that improves performance, supports compliance, and drives measurable outcomes—while helping us modernize how learning is delivered using practical tools and forward-thinking methods (including the responsible use of AI). In this role, you’ll help shape how training is delivered across real-world, mission-critical programs, creating learning solutions that reduce risk, strengthen operational excellence, and enhance workforce readiness. Job Description: Learning Design & Content Development Design and develop training solutions across multiple modalities (virtual, in-person, self-paced, blended). Create and update learning assets such as: eLearning modules. Facilitator guides and participant materials. SOPs, job aids, checklists, and performance support tools. Convert traditional slide decks and documents into interactive, learner-centered experiences. Apply adult learning principles and proven instructional methods (ADDIE, SAM, backward design, etc.). Build training that is clear, usable, accessible, and easy to maintain. Needs Analysis & Measurement Partner with SMEs to identify performance gaps, learning needs, and target behaviors. Conduct needs assessments using interviews, surveys, and workflow observation. Define learning outcomes and align activities and assessments to those outcomes. Track effectiveness using available data (completion, assessment scores, feedback, operational metrics). Make data-driven recommendations to improve learning impact over time. LMS Administration & Learning Operations Serve as a learning administrator for the LMS, including: Uploading/testing learning objects. Managing versions, enrollments, and reporting. Ensuring a smooth learner experience and clean content organization. Maintain learning libraries, learning paths, and documentation for audits or contract reporting. Support evaluation, validation, and continuous improvement cycles. Quality, Compliance & Accessibility Conduct QA reviews, usability checks, and user acceptance testing. Maintain version control and change documentation. Ensure training meets expectations for: Accessibility (508/WCAG best practices). Copyright compliance and proper sourcing. Government documentation standards and contract requirements. Build consistent templates and standards to scale content efficiently. Innovation (Practical + Responsible) Explore tools and methods that improve speed and quality without increasing cost. Evaluate emerging trends such as generative AI, microlearning, guided simulations, and video-first enablement. Recommend lightweight solutions that are secure, compliant, and realistic for government environments. Tools & Technology We’re looking for a tech-forward LXD who can work within real-world constraints and still build great learning experiences. Tools and platforms may include: Paycor LMS (preferred) or similar systems. Articulate 360 (Rise/Storyline), Captivate, and other authoring tools. Accessibility standards and best practices to support consistent delivery and learner access. Standard content and media tools (PowerPoint, Word, lightweight video/audio editing).
