About The Position

Supervise, plan and implement the credit union’s employee and leadership education and training programs. Ensure that ongoing development of all employees reflects the mission, vision and core values of the credit union. Provides coaching and development to assigned department staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years leadership experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating learning for adult students required
  • A high school education or GED required.
  • Ability to analyze data for equitable resolutions.
  • Ability to manage projects through to completion.
  • Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to speak to groups of all sizes in a professional and precise manner.
  • Ability to work regular full time hours.
  • Ability to work on-site at designated location and travel to branch locations.
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and model exemplary member service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Must be bondable
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time (6 to 7 hours per day).
  • Must be able to view a computer screen, use a keyboard to enter information, and manipulate a mouse.
  • Job includes some repetitive hand/wrist motions.
  • Ability to operate office machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum five years leadership experience preferred.
  • Minimum two years Credit Union experience preferred.
  • Minimum three years of Credit Union training experience preferred.
  • Minimum two years Keystone/Corelation software experience preferred.
  • Bachelor degree or specialized certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures active and on going coaching and development to assigned department staff, writes and conducts performance appraisals and identifies training needs.
  • Oversees the employee onboarding and training program, ensuring staff receive comprehensive instruction on organizational processes, computer systems, and software.
  • Provides strategic direction for ongoing and refresher training to maintain workforce proficiency and compliance.
  • Develops and maintains the organization’s leadership training strategy, designing frameworks and guiding managers in building the skills needed to lead teams effectively.
  • Develops a structured leadership development curriculum aligned with organizational goals and future talent needs.
  • Supports the VP of Human Resources in identifying leadership competency gaps and contributes to the design of targeted development pathways for emerging, mid level, and senior leaders.
  • Provides basic training and guidance to managers on everyday coaching skills, giving clear feedback, and handling routine performance conversations.
  • Offers basic guidance to supervisors on supporting team development and encouraging everyday learning on the job.
  • Manages the end to end training development process by guiding the creation of training outlines, instructional plans, and delivery methods.
  • Provides strategic oversight of individual and group learning approaches, demonstrations, and workshops, while ensuring the development of high quality training materials such as handbooks, visual aids, and tutorials.
  • Oversees assigned staff as it relates to learning and development activities; maintains communication and coordinates activities with other departments.
  • Oversees the employee performance tracking process by ensuring routine assessments, observational reviews, and supervisor feedback are effectively gathered and analyzed.
  • Conducts hands on reviews of training sessions and materials and offers practical recommendations to improve learning effectiveness and strengthen day to day skill development.
  • Oversees learning and development department; trains and directs assigned staff.
  • Interviews, recommend new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Provides strategic leadership and direction for ongoing projects, ensuring alignment, progress, and successful execution.
  • Reviews and approves time off requests.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.
