Someone who doesn’t wait for perfect conditions — they build momentum anyway. This role sits at the heart of Alpha Academy, where culture, leadership, and capability are built on purpose. You’ll operate as the right hand to the Learning & Development Manager, owning initiatives end-to-end and stepping into whatever lane is needed to keep programs moving, people growing, and standards high. If you’re the kind of leader who can zoom out to see the system — then roll up your sleeves and fix what’s broken — keep reading. Who We Are Alpha Inc. is a Hawaiʻi-born, locally owned leader in heavy civil construction, concrete, energy, drilling, and infrastructure services. We don’t just build projects — we build people, careers, and communities. Our work is grounded in three Core Values that guide every decision: Lead with Heart – We show up with humility, empathy, and respect. Strength in Unity – One team, many strengths. Alpha Mentality – Ownership, grit, and relentless improvement. Alpha Academy exists to protect and scale these values as we grow — and this role is critical to that mission. The Impact You’ll Make As the Learning & Development Lead, you translate Alpha Academy’s vision into disciplined execution at scale. You expand the team’s capacity, elevate program quality, and ensure learning actually changes how work gets done. You are trusted to think, decide, and act — without needing constant direction. What You’ll Own Strategic Execution & Program Leadership Co-lead the execution of Alpha Academy’s most critical learning and leadership initiatives. Translate strategy into clear plans, timelines, and deliverables — then drive them to completion. Own programs end-to-end: design, pilot, rollout, and evaluation. Identify risks early and take decisive action to keep momentum strong. Ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across divisions, roles, and locations. Step in to stabilize, redesign, or accelerate programs when complexity increases. Stay relentlessly focused on outcomes, not just activity. Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment Serve as a primary partner to Operations, Safety, HR, IT, and other stakeholders. Translate real operational needs into scalable, effective learning solutions. Facilitate collaboration, remove roadblocks, and drive decisions forward. Represent Alpha Academy as a credible, trusted leader across the organization. Serve as a proxy for the Learning & Development Manager when needed. Reinforce standards, accountability, and operating rhythms. Systems, Data & Continuous Improvement Partner with the L&D Systems Administrator to ensure programs are supported by strong systems and reporting. Use data, feedback, and insight to continuously improve learning effectiveness. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and scale with discipline. Culture & Values Leadership Fully embody Lead with Heart, Strength in Unity, and Alpha Mentality — every day. Build trust, model ownership, and maintain high personal standards. Be a steady, credible presence during growth and change. What Sets You Apart Required Bachelor’s degree in Education, HR, Organizational Development, Business, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, or Organizational Development. Proven success leading complex initiatives from concept to execution. Strong judgment, ownership mindset, and comfort operating autonomously.
