About The Position

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Learning and Development Coordinator (L& D Coordinator) to lead and manage our training programs for employees, with a primary focus on our commissioning engineers (CxEs). The L&D Coordinator is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and administration of training and career development programs that enhance employee performance, engagement, and long-term growth. This role plays a key part in developing internal talent pipelines, strengthening leadership capabilities, and aligning learning initiatives with organizational strategies. The L&D Coordinator partners with leadership, management and employees to identify skill gaps, support career pathing, and foster a culture of continuous learning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and an ability to drive employee growth and development in areas that are critical to scalability at Apollo. This is a hybrid role that may require approximately 90% or more travel to various project locations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Education, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in training and development, preferably in engineering, construction, or a technical environment.
  • Successful Background Check including pre-employment drug screening.
  • US citizens, permanent residents or any candidate with eligibility to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications in training or development (e.g., CPTD, ATD) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with data center commissioning or similar technical fields is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance structured onboarding programs for new hires entering mission-critical environments, ensuring employees are equipped with safety awareness and operational standards required for success.
  • Coordinate end-to-end logistics for training programs, including scheduling, materials preparation, communications, vendor coordination, and Learning Management System (LMS) administration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, and client-specific certifications)
  • Assist in the design, development, and rollout of learning initiatives tailored to engineering disciplines, commissioning practices, and evolving project requirements.
  • Design and maintain standardized learning frameworks and clearly defined career progression pathways for commissioning engineering roles, including entry-level (EIT – Engineer in Training), intermediate, lead-qualified, team leads, project managers, and regional managers.
  • Develop and implement structured career pathways for both technical and non-technical roles, aligning advancement criteria with skill proficiency, performance outcomes, certifications, and readiness benchmarks.
  • Partner with managers to support individual development plans (IDPs) aligned with established career pathways, guiding employees toward advancement and promotion readiness.
  • Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments by collaborating with leadership, operations, and management teams to identify skill gaps and future workforce requirements.
  • Design, launch, and manage mentoring programs that strategically pair experienced employees with developing professionals to accelerate skill transfer, leadership growth, and knowledge retention.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives that promote professional development, career mobility, and internal advancement opportunities.
  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative feedback through discussions, surveys, and evaluations to continuously improve the effectiveness and relevance of training programs.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and operational excellence across all levels of the organization.
  • Compile, analyze, and present training and development metrics to leadership to inform strategic workforce planning and data-driven decision-making.
  • Measure and report on the return on investment (ROI) of development programs, linking outcomes to quality, safety, productivity, and project performance indicators.
  • Contribute to succession planning initiatives by identifying high-potential talent, supporting leadership readiness, and strengthening a sustainable internal talent pipeline.
