Job Summary The Learning Consultant supports the mission of Holy Spirit Catholic Church by strengthening faith formation and educational programs across the parish. This role collaborates with clergy, ministry leaders, catechists, and volunteers to design, evaluate, and improve learning experiences that reflect Catholic teachings and promote spiritual growth for all age groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in teaching, instructional coaching, curriculum development, or faith formation
  • Knowledge of Catholic doctrine, catechesis, and parish education structures
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively with clergy, families, staff, and volunteers

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching certification or catechetical certification
  • Experience in adult learning, volunteer training, or parish leadership
  • Familiarity with instructional design or educational best practices

Responsibilities

  • Assess parish education and faith formation needs and recommend instructional improvements
  • Design and support age‑appropriate catechetical and religious education programming
  • Collaborate with clergy and ministry leaders to ensure alignment with Church teachings and parish goals
  • Coach and support catechists, teachers, and volunteers in effective instructional practices
  • Develop and recommend curriculum, resources, and learning materials
  • Support planning and facilitation of workshops, training sessions, and formation events
  • Monitor program effectiveness and recommend data‑informed improvements
  • Ensure learning environments are inclusive, engaging, and supportive of spiritual development
