About The Position

If you're a corporate trainer with a knack for delivering impactful, inclusive learning experiences, we want you to join our team as a Learning and Development Instructor I at Safety National! In this role, you’ll work closely other L&D professionals, hiring managers, and new employees to deliver a high touch onboarding program. From emerging talent to senior leaders, you will welcome all new employees to Safety National and play a big role in getting their journey with us off on the right path.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree required or equivalent work experience, with and emphasis in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Management, Educational Psychology, Adult Education or similar preferred.
  • 2 or more years’ of experience in designing, developing, and delivering in-person learning and development programs in a corporate setting.
  • Proven experience with instructional design methodologies, including ADDIE or similar frameworks.
  • Proven ability to facilitate large in-person and virtual training effectively
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Captivate or similar platforms.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple training projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining quality.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across various departments and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to assess learning needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs
  • The ideal candidate for this role must be able to work onsite four days a week in the St. Louis Corporate Office to effectively address the in-person training needs of the organization.
  • Protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and technology assets against unauthorized disclosure, destruction and/or alteration, in accordance with Safety National policies, standards, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years’ of experience in designing, developing, and delivering in-person learning and development programs in a corporate setting.
  • Experience developing and facilitating new employee onboarding programs.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft 365 Suite skills
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
  • Certification in vendor related training content (e.g., DISC, Myers-Briggs)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and facilitate Safety National’s bi-weekly in-person new employee onboarding program, Succeeding at Safety National, with a focus on employee experience, engagement, corporate cultural awareness and inclusion.
  • Maintain ongoing engagement with new employees throughout their first year to include regular touch points and learning opportunities.
  • Design structured learning experiences that embrace different styles and methods, while delivering on key business outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver both technical and people skill training sessions using a blended learning approach including but not limited to instructor-led training (in-person), computer-based training, and virtual instructor-led training.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in gathering content to develop training and supporting materials for learning initiatives.
  • Develop measurement tools to evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs.
  • Design and develop training materials that include participant guides, instructor guides and other supplemental material to enhance the adult learning experience, meet learning objectives and support varied learning styles.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training to continually improve content, structure, materials, and program delivery, including a review of your class evaluations.
  • Produce eLearning modules using an authoring software such as: Articulate.
  • Utilization of the ADDIE model to create learning and development courses and programs.
  • Maintain accurate records and update content in Safety National’s Learning Management System.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in learning and development to enhance training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
