Join a team that has received numerous awards for being a top place to work: TruStage awards and recognition Job Purpose: The Lead, Learning & Development Consultant oversees the delivery of learning solutions and programs for their assigned BU(s). They sit within the L&D Center of Excellence and dotted line report to the business unit. They provide strategic direction, vision, and recommend learning solutions to support their BUs strategy. They are responsible for learning needs assessment, recommending learning solutions to close gaps, and delivering and evaluating offerings. They will help advance our learning culture by ensuring learning is valued, expected, and embedded into our business. The Lead, L&D Consultant recommends learning and development solutions for their assigned BU to support our imperative of preparing the next generation of talent (ongoing development for current and future roles). They align solutions to the Center of Excellence (CoE) by leveraging existing core offerings to drive consistency across the enterprise. They engage the CoE L&D teams for design/development, learning technology, facilitation, etc. They provide a consultative approach and thought leadership in understanding the strategic needs of the business and recommending learning solutions to meet those needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources or related field.
  • 7+ years in a learning and development function.
  • Understands adult learning.
  • Proven consultative experience in understanding learning and development needs, recommending solutions, and demonstrating impact.
  • Strong experience managing programs to measure learning outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a collaborative environment and build trust with internal and external business partners.
  • Demonstrated success in influencing without authority.
  • Demonstrated expertise in program/project management.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, presentation, and relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to scope and lead projects.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to evaluate and leverage data to resolve learning needs for business.
  • Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify learning needs and objectives within assigned business unit.
  • Gather and analyze data to make sound recommendations.
  • Educate and consult with BU leaders on how to apply, leverage, and optimize learning and development to achieve business outcomes.
  • Lead, direct, and facilitate L&D departmental projects from initiation through implementation (following the ADDIE process).
  • Leverage existing learning solutions from the L&D CoE to drive consistency and to minimize spend across the organization.
  • Ensure overall quality of content and delivery by establishing success metrics aligned to the business goals.
  • Apply enterprise-wide thinking in decisions and priorities.
  • Implement learning solutions that address the BUs skill gaps, enhance employee capabilities, and promote employee growth and career development.
  • Support the BU in creating and sustaining a strong learning culture.
  • Anticipate and resolve complex problems that are learning related.
  • Serve as a key learning resource within the business.
  • Create comprehensive, scalable plans with high level learning solutions and translate plans into a programmatic, executable, learning roadmap.
  • Make necessary revisions to plans, as needed.
  • Conduct BU needs analysis to identify learning and performance gaps.
  • Recommend learning solutions, monitor success, and make data-informed decisions.
  • Develop innovative learning deliverables that provide meaningful and learner-centric solutions.
  • Manage the successful implementation and execution of learning initiatives from end-to-end to ensure deliverables are met and learning outcomes achieved for the business (ex. coordinating logistics, communications, scheduling/securing facilitators, tracking enrollments/completions, etc.).
  • Evaluate and measure the impact of learning delivery and report effectiveness and progress.
  • Organize and plans appropriately for successful learning delivery.
  • Highly competent in presenting content virtually via Microsoft Teams.
  • Ensure consistency of learning delivery across the business and enterprise.
  • May facilitate learning content.
  • Is up to date on learning content and is well prepared to deliver an engaging learning experience.
  • May oversee train-the-trainer programs to build competency across BU.
  • Provide guidance and support to BU facilitators to enhance their effectiveness in delivering learning programs and successful transfer of learning.
  • Prepare guest speakers for successful delivery of content and to ensure program objectives are met.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to speakers to set them up for success.
  • Apply effective project management to ensure timely delivery of learning solutions.
  • Build strategic relationships with BU leaders and HR Business Partners, leveraging organizational knowledge to support business results.
  • Engage L&D learning technology team for alignment on learning systems/tools and to track learning content within LMS.
  • Partner with L&D design/development for the unique build of any learning content and follow-up on any revisions needed.
  • Partner with L&D Program Management and Delivery team for the facilitation of offerings.
  • Adhere to L&D learning governance to drive consistency and alignment across the enterprise.
  • Engage and align appropriate resources to execute on the learning strategy for the business.
  • Seek opportunities for alignment by looking across business areas to identify dependencies, and trends.
  • Build key relationships within business to understand priority items for learning.
  • Engage preferred vendor partnerships and any facilitators, as needed.
  • Fully understands the business strategy, goals, and priorities of the business.
  • Is aware of key BU priorities and brings current business knowledge into the content build and delivery of learning solutions to meet the needs of the business.
  • Stay abreast of emerging leadership development trends.
