About The Position

This is a part time, on-site teacher role located in Chicago, IL. As a Teacher, you will be responsible for implementing lesson plans, providing education to middle school students, and effectively communicating with students, parents, and staff.Teachers follow provided curriculum and lesson plans, and present those lessons to their students, individually or in groups. This class supports students balancing their busy home and school schedules, as well as their High Jump classes by building their executive functioning skills and supporting social emotional learning. They grade and track the progress of their students and keep an updated Google Classroom for students with assignments and feedback and inform parents about their progress. Teachers will communicate with Teaching Assistants about how they can engage in the classroom and with students. Teachers are responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful classroom environment in order to optimize student capabilities and develop their love of learning.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age
Associates degree minimum; bachelors degree preferred
Experience working with students or in organizations that serve youth
