About The Position

The position will typically assist with the following:

Requirements

High school degree or GED.
Must be at least years old
Relevant previous daycare experience working with children in a licensed or accredited daycare, child care center, or preschool
Caring and compassionate attitude a must
Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
Must have critical thinking, monitoring, negotiating, and learning skills
Ability to convey a dynamic, energetic, and fun-loving spirit
Must have problem-solving and creativity skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Lift and carry children (up to 50 lbs.), including kneeling, bending, stooping, stretching, or squatting to interact with children
Using fingers and hands to manipulate small objects
Running short distances, sitting on the floor; bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching out Moving arms and legs quickly and coordinating movement of several parts of the body such as arms and legs, while the body is moving.
Successful background check, reference checking, and drug/alcohol screening clearance.
Acknowledgment of agreement with GAC’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.

Responsibilities

Physical care of infant/toddler (including diapering, feeding, and cleanliness)
Following an age-appropriate curriculum, and developing relationships with the director, co-workers, parents, and students
Ensure the safety of the children, and cleanliness of the classroom, and treat each child with dignity and respect for his/her cultural background
Interact with each child on a daily basis through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, playground, free play, etc.
Maintain accurate attendance
Order supplies and materials
Utilize effective classroom management
Maintain quality results by following and enforcing standards
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
