About The Position

The role of Lean Tech is to provide electrician technical skills to support the Aiken facility in the Deployment of the Hubbell Manufacturing System.  A Day In The LifeThis position will work closely with the Continuous Improvement Manager, Lean Lead Tech, contract, and Hubbell employees in implementing the Lean strategy for the Aiken site. This position is responsible for helping drive continuous improvement in overall operations through the Implementation of Waste Elimination, Safety, 5S, and Daily Management initiatives. The role will support the Plant Safety Programs. The role will support Kaizens and other Lean Transformation activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • Painting and power tool skills.
  • Fixture skills and selection of materials.
  • Concrete, metal, wood preparation and use of appropriate tools
  • Ability to read and interpret sketches, drawings, and dimensions.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Ability to use portable electronic communication devices, cell phones, tablets.
  • Basic PC skills, email, word, company site.
  • Professional Journeyman or equivalent experience required.
  • Advanced Electrical Skills and code compliance knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Provide Technical Electrical skills to ensure safe operation of equipment
  • Support Kaizen events comprised of multi-functional team members.
  • Support Safety Committee, as subject matter expert on powered controls.
  • Provide Electrical Code compliance with equipment relocation projects.
  • Obtain required fixtures, tools, work aids, poke yokes to support workplace changes
  • Assist in developing Shadow boards for 5S and workstations.
  • Assist maintenance with maintaining equipment and tooling.
  • Assist in the change of systems/processes as required in support of the Lean initiatives
  • Participate in, co-facilitate, or facilitate projects, and “just do-it’s”
  • Follow up on action plans and closure of 5S findings
  • Assist operations in problem solving issues
  • Resolves issues after Rapid Improvement events to achieve desired state
  • Support communication of the direction of Lean Transformation and daily management initiatives to employees
  • Drive Lean culture change through coaching of employees and leaders.
  • Demonstrate and follow the principles Best Safety Practices
  • Ability to work as a Team or individually
