POSITION SUMMARY: The Lean Specialist drives continuous improvement by applying Lean methodologies to identify and eliminate defects across manufacturing processes. This role partners closely with shop floor employees to improve product quality, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and training abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle)
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across teams
  • Travel: Up to 10%
  • Physical Requirements: Regular standing, walking, and working on the production floor; ability to use a computer for extended periods

Responsibilities

  • Partner with shop floor employees to identify, analyze, and eliminate defects in production processes
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement (Kaizen) events focused on quality and efficiency gains
  • Track, document, and report defects, including progress updates to Lean leadership and plant management
  • Ensure thorough understanding of product specifications and customer requirements
  • Apply the Diamond One process to determine when engineering support is required
  • Support production supervisors and teams in resolving installation and process issues to achieve defect-free output
  • Manage quality issues from identification through corrective action and follow-up audits
  • Train employees in Lean tools and methodologies, including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Value Graphs, and cycle time reduction
  • Collaborate with Lean Facilitators on Kaizen and other improvement initiatives
  • Complete special projects and assignments as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
