About The Position

As a lean material flow expert you will design, implement, and optimize the physical movement of parts and products through a facility to minimize waste and maximize efficiency. You will use lean manufacturing solutions including 5S for organization, Kaizen for continuous improvement (CIP) as well as Kanban and supermarkets for pull-based inventory control to improve the value stream. Supply chain modeling, poka yoke, value stream design and just-in-time will be methods that you will utilize to identify process gaps and CIP opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of supply chain or material flow experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
  • Experience applying problem-solving tools in warehouse or production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Material Strategy & Design: Develop internal material flow, routing, storage, and containerization strategies. Design layouts for staging and storage areas, kit cells, and production lineside delivery.
  • Lean Implementation: Apply lean principles such as Kanban, Just-In-Time (JIT), First-In-First-Out (FIFO), and 5S to streamline replenishment loops.
  • Plan for Every Part (PFEP): Own and maintain the PFEP database, ensuring accurate data for every component to dictate its lineside delivery frequency, supermarket size and part presentation method.
  • Simulation & Analysis: Conduct time studies and bottleneck analyses. Simulate various supply strategies and recommend preferred solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead Kaizen events and workshops to identify waste and improve productivity. Apply tools such as value stream design and supply chain modeling to identify CIP opportunities.
