About The Position

Work under the general guidance of the Lean Champion &/or Branch Management, reports directly to Lean Champion or Plant Manager. The Lean Focal acts as a supporter, educator, liaison and partner in pursuing excellence and value in the plants and/or office using the concepts of Continuous Improvement. Job Description Key Accountabilities: Assist in leading numerous operational optimization projects simultaneously to develop new processes. Assist in developing team capabilities to utilize tools of basic problem-solving Facilitate brainstorming, idea evaluation/assessment, tracking of employee-based teams and implementation plan development (follow up) Document and track all departmental projects Support and provide input to the development of Lean Programs and initiatives, ensuring continuous performance improvement and capability development. Under the direction of the Lean Champion, capture and review data, current processes and performance trends for variances and severity level Meet Lean performance measurements. Documentation (Assessments, Audits, Observations, Records) Measurements, maintain visibility of all formal and informal events, activities, follow-up Travel as necessary to locations throughout the organization and to attend applicable educational seminars Supports, executes and analyzes Safety-Lean quality-reporting measures Meets TKMNA Employee Attributes / Competencies The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirement for the performance of this job. Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership and training facilitation skills
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality management systems applicable to the business
  • Excellent Computer skills – Power point, Excel, Word, Visio and Project
  • Basic knowledge of lean systems and tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Six sigma Greenbelt or other formal Lean certification

Responsibilities
