About The Position

PURPOSE The Leadership Developer will network with and strengthen missional communities, church expressions, and individuals, primarily in Costa Rica, while also connecting them with others throughout Latin America. The goal is to enhance the expression of God’s Kingdom by fostering leadership in these areas. This position will support the nature and value of Resonate Global Mission's ministries, vision, and values to the CRCNA and beyond, and participate in fundraising efforts for missionary support and relevant projects. This position requires the candidate to reside in Costa Rica, with the ability to travel internationally. This position will remain open until filled. Requirements

  • Professing membership in a Christian Reformed congregation, or of a church in communion with the CRCNA, and agreement with the doctrine of the church signified by signing a covenant statement. Ordination preferred.
  • Spirit-led person of prayer and discernment who can lead others in discernment processes.
  • Expressed willingness to continue learning about the missional context in North America and around the world.
  • Demonstrates creativity and adaptability while remaining a calm presence in diverse and ambiguous situations.
  • Self-starter who can accomplish goals and produce results with minimum direct oversight.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across diverse systems and partnerships, fostering trust and synergy while being aware of cross-cultural sensitivities.
  • Ability to utilize technology effectively, contributing to the health of a staff network.
  • Strong interpersonal and relational skills with a servant heart
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, both oral and written communication.
  • Able to travel internationally.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of study is required.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in missiology, theology, and intercultural relations.
  • Demonstrated experience in a ministry setting, with a strong background in relationship building and fundraising.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred; equivalent background in theology, missions, or related areas considered.
  • Ordination preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Resonate adheres to Costa Rica's legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with the regional mission team to set strategy and goals for ministry, including annual budget, work plans, monthly expense reports, and quarterly missionary reports.
  • Teach courses at theological schools and with the Cohort Central America that promote global missions and serve global missionaries in contextually appropriate ways.
  • Network with ministries and missional leaders in the region, including CRCNA agencies and congregations, to achieve the key outcomes of Resonate Global Mission; New Expressions of Church and all forms of Theological Formation (Seminary, TLT, other).
  • Maintain healthy reciprocal relationships with partner organizations in the region, including Casa Adobe, AROCHA Costa Rica, CETI & INFEMIT, and ESEPA.
  • Facilitate mutual learning programs between CRCNA members and Central American Christians, including church partnerships, volunteer placements, and short-term service learning focused on theological reflection and spiritual formation.
  • Communicate the value of Resonate's ministries to the CRCNA and beyond.
  • Participate in support-raising (e.g., prayer, care, and financial support) for Resonate Global Mission’s ministries by developing and maintaining a network of supporting churches and individuals in North America. Aiming for at least 90% of the average missionary cost worldwide.
  • Educate the CRCNA and others about the nature of the global church and its mission, encouraging them to develop a deeper passion and involvement in global missions.
  • Provide the CRCNA with insight and resources for ministry among minority groups living in North America.
  • Communicate the nature and impact of Resonate Global Mission’s ministries to the CRCNA and others through written communications and preaching/speaking engagements.
