About The Position

The Leadership Academies Supervisor position performs highly advanced (senior-level) administrative and supervisory program work. This work involves establishing programmatic goals, educational program development, implementation, and evaluation activities for Access and Eligibility Services (AES) leadership academies that develop AES team members at many different levels of leadership. This supervisor is primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the two AES leadership academies (QUEST and LEADS) and supervising the work of the academy team members who facilitate those programs. The Leadership Academies Supervisor develops priorities and standards for the review and evaluation of leadership academy activities that measure the effectiveness of the program and recommends appropriate and actionable solutions. Establishes program processes and procedures and prioritizes activities in alignment with AES goals and priorities. The position demonstrates a well-rounded understanding of leadership and adult learning principles and practices. The Leadership Academies Supervisor oversees, develops, and approves training schedules for all Leadership Academies. This position regularly interacts with staff at all levels, internal and external to AES. The position represents the program area at meetings, conferences, seminars, panels, and committees as needed. The position works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

  • Ability to manage programmatic work.
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff to provide excellent results.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work leadership development, organizational development, adult learning, or communications preferred. Four years of work in leadership and professional development can substitute for a degree.
  • 3 years experience in advanced level adult learning skills including developing and delivering workshops and trainings.
  • Advanced writing and verbal communication skills as observed by detail and completeness of information on state application.
