About The Position

Water scarcity is one of the biggest issues in Colorado, and Resource Central’s Slow the Flow program partners with over 40 Colorado municipalities and water providers to empower residents to save water through efficient irrigation practices. To date, Slow the Flow has helped Colorado residents save over 200 million gallons of water! Join our team as a Lead Water Conservation Technician to help further our impact by completing sprinkler system evaluations, installing water-saving irrigation devices, and supporting other field staff. This is a full-time, field-based conservation role that includes daily driving from home to appointments. Fieldwork is primarily along the northern Colorado Front Range and the greater Denver area. The position starts May 4, 2026 and is expected to last into September 2026. Compensation includes $22.00/hr base pay, opportunities to earn bonuses based on exceptional attendance, mileage reimbursement, cell phone stipend, paid training, and accrued paid sick leave. Requirements

  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age upon start date; High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, daily access to a reliable automobile, and a smartphone required.
  • Must pass and maintain a clean background check and driving record evaluation if offered a position.
  • Daily travel along the northern Colorado Front Range and the greater Denver area required.
  • Ability to safely lift 30 pounds, walk continuously throughout the workday, kneel, lift, and bend repeatedly required.
  • Ability to safely work outdoors in all kinds of weather including high temperatures and rain required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using a drill and basic hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, level, etc.) preferred.
  • Customer service, training, or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in fieldwork, landscaping, sprinklers, or sustainability preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Help people conserve water by becoming an expert on efficient sprinkler system operation and smart irrigation controller and rain sensor installations; we provide training.
  • Provide leadership to help train and support 15+ field staff on Slow the Flow water conservation services.
  • Conduct sprinkler system checkups at homes and other properties to conserve water and improve system performance.
  • Install smart irrigation controllers and rain sensors on sprinkler systems and educate homeowners on their use.
  • Travel from home to worksite locations daily; we provide mileage reimbursement.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings in person, online, and on the phone.
  • Assist with other Slow the Flow tasks or Resource Central programs as assigned.
