Lead Warehouse
About The Position
Westland Distributing is a well-established wholesale distribution company and leader in the Manufactured Home parts industry. We are currently looking for a Warehouse Lead to help us drive growth in our Las Vegas, NV Branch through facilitating a high performing culture and providing outstanding service to our customers. The Warehouse Lead role is focused on ensuring we consistently meet customer expectations through accurate receiving, pulling, packing and delivery of product while maintaining an orderly, cleanly and safe warehouse and yard. The person in this role leads by example, coaches and develops staff and ensures that all customer expectations are met. Warehouse experience is a must, forklift certified is a plus. This is a hands-on position with direct interaction with team members, customers and vendors. The ideal candidate has an excellent work ethic and shares our core values prioritizing relationship, taking ownership, being positive and getting results.
Requirements
- Warehouse experience required; leadership experience preferred
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Eager to take initiative and able to work without direct supervision
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds
- Professional demeanor and appearance, well-spoken and personable
- High attention to detail
- Solid work ethic and a can-do attitude
Responsibilities
- Leading the warehouse team in the daily operation of a fast paced building products distribution facility
- Directing team workflow to ensure effective performance against customer expectations
- Collaborating with Branch Manager on hiring, coaching and development and discipline
- Unloading vendor deliveries by hand and using a forklift for placement in designated locations within the warehouse
- Pulling, packing and staging product for loading into Westland trucks, third party trucks or customer pickup
- Loading Westland delivery trucks by hand and using a forklift
- Moving inventory and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment
- Using a computer to print out and enter shipping and inventory information
- Pulling orders for customers from within the warehouse for in person pickup
- Interacting with customers in a pleasant and supportive manner
- Completing special projects within the warehouse as needed
