About The Position

The Lead Warehouse Associate supports warehouse operations through advanced inventory control, shipping/receiving, workflow coordination, and customer service collaboration. This role serves as a subject‑matter expert within the warehouse, helps guide junior staff, and ensures that daily processes run smoothly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 4+ years of warehouse, distribution, or warehouse customer service experience required
  • Ability and willingness to represent Mechanical Reps in the most positive manner with clients, suppliers and the community we serve
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers and other customers; learn and use operating practices of the company
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Cooperate as a team member with all departments
  • Ability to provide service in a courteous, prompt and efficient manner
  • Assume responsibility, deal effectively with problems, and exercise independent judgment when making decisions
  • Possess good organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and use empathetic listening skills, communicate with clarity and maintain an attitude with respect, assistance, honesty and resourcefulness

  • Subject to drug test prior to employment
  • Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow or slippery surface.
  • Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with your fingers
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced shipping and receiving tasks, including unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and verifying items against purchase and sales orders.
  • Assemble, stage, and prepare customer orders for pickup or delivery.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventory.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify leadership when replenishment is needed.
  • Create and receive purchase orders in the system with accuracy.
  • Process daily sales orders, transfers, and receipts in the computer system.
  • Assist in resolving order or inventory discrepancies (pricing, quantities, acknowledgements, delayed shipments, etc.).
  • Collaborate with sales teams on order status, stock availability, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare shipments and parcels for mailing or freight pickup.
  • Maintain organization of warehouse shelves, bins, racks, and storage areas.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and orderly at all times.
  • Perform basic maintenance of warehouse tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist in sorting, labeling, and placing materials in designated storage locations.
  • Process COD customer payments such as cash, checks, and credit cards.
  • Drive a 16-ft box truck to deliver products to local customers and job sites when needed.
  • Assist with facilities-related tasks such as basic upkeep or minor repairs.
  • Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.
