About The Position

C.H. Robinson is looking for multiple Lead Warehouse Associates to join our Plainfield North warehouse. In this role you will be responsible for responsible for assisting the warehouse supervisory team with training, coaching and overseeing the warehouse operational process. You will make sure that freight is loaded/unloaded from trailers or ocean containers and moved within the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner. If you are an individual who is dependable, reliable, detail oriented and safety minded who can function in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment , this role may be a good fit for you. The specific leads we are looking for are: International Lead: hours are Monday – Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm Traffic Clerk Lead: hours are Monday – Friday Inbound Lead: hours are Monday – Friday from 6:00am – 2:30pm

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimum 2 years of previous warehouse operations experience
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination
  • Could be required to stand and/or walk for long periods daily while frequently bending, twisting, reaching, and periodically lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Certified forklift operator
  • Applicants in a warehouse role must complete a pre-employment drug screen as part of a conditional job offer
  • Ability to work flexible hours and days

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Bills of Lading, Shipping Manifests, Delivery Orders, etc.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to speak Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Support warehouse supervisory team in adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure their implementation
  • Assist warehouse team in utilizing Warehouse Management System (WMS), including training and troubleshooting, to maintain efficient warehouse organization
  • Receive goods from customers and suppliers by offloading and loading vehicles, checking paperwork, weighing, measuring, and reporting discrepancies or damages
  • Operate stand-up, sit-down forklifts, and hand jacks for palletization, stretch wrapping, and banding of cargo
  • Load and unload trailers/ocean containers in a professional and damage-free manner
  • Prepare outbound loads by matching paperwork, labeling, and handling Unit Load Device (ULD) preparation
  • Sign off Bills of Lading accurately, verifying counts and damages
  • Stage cargo within the warehouse safely and orderly
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization standards through general housekeeping
  • Ensure quality standards are met according to standard operating procedures (SOP) or customer requirements, including reworking or recouping freight
  • Contribute to the development of new SOPs related to new business, products, or process changes
  • Regular duties include cross-functional areas such as receiving, loading, picking, shipping, etc.
  • Completion of weekly bond checks
  • Execute Dock-to-Stock procedures and regulations at all times, maintaining building perimeter security and challenging anything or anyone untoward
  • Handle bonded import freight into the External Temporary Storage (ERTS) facility in accordance with regulations and breakdown of inbound ULD’s as required
