We are proud to be part of this historic community and enjoy welcoming clients and team members from surrounding areas. We are looking to add a Lead Veterinary Technician to our dedicated team. This is a working leadership role for an experienced technician or assistant who enjoys mentoring others, maintaining efficient workflows, and supporting high-quality patient care. A Certified Veterinary Technician is welcome but not required. We will gladly consider a highly experienced and qualified veterinary technician or assistant with strong clinical skills and leadership ability. We are not in a rush—we are looking for the right person who shares our commitment to exceptional patient care, strong team communication, and excellent client service. The Lead Technician serves as a key support role to the Hospital Manager and doctors, helping guide the technician and assistant team while maintaining daily workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Training all newly hired technicians and assistants
  • Providing ongoing mentorship and coaching for technicians and assistants
  • Monitoring team performance and helping provide resources or additional training when needed
  • Appropriately assigning staff to daily appointment roles
  • Monitoring appointment workflow to ensure efficiency and patient care standards
  • Coordinating technician and assistant lunch periods to ensure appointment coverage
  • Communicating with front desk staff to maintain smooth daily operations
  • Motivating team members and promoting positive communication
  • Delegating tasks during downtime to maintain productivity
  • Listening to team feedback and working with the Hospital Manager to resolve concerns
  • Reporting concerns or operational issues to the Hospital Manager
  • Completing monthly checklists
  • Venipuncture
  • Animal restraint
  • Digital radiographs
  • Surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery
  • Administering vaccinations and medications
  • Performing treatments as directed by the veterinarian
  • Preparing and maintaining exam rooms
  • Evaluating patient records and filling standing prescription orders
  • Taking and recording vital signs
  • Collecting patient histories from owners and properly documenting medical records
  • Communicating with pet owners regarding patient care
