We are seeking a Lead Validation Engineer to drive validation activities for embedded and connected systems within a product engineering environment. This role focuses on leading a small team, owning end-to-end testing, and ensuring high-quality validation across projects, including OTA and system-level integrations. This is not just a test execution role—the ideal candidate will bring strong technical leadership, strategic thinking in validation, and the ability to improve processes, frameworks, and overall test quality.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in embedded/device validation, including end-to-end test execution and debugging complex issues
  • Advanced knowledge of OTA testing, including scenario design and edge case validation
  • Working knowledge of CAN, J1939, and UDS protocols with ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot
  • Experience using CANalyzer / PCAN tools for simulation, scripting, and automation support
  • Solid understanding of test strategy, coverage planning, and validation metrics
  • Experience developing automation tools/scripts to improve testing efficiency
  • Ability to lead a small team, assign tasks, and mentor junior engineers
  • Experience collaborating with OEM partners for integration and issue resolution
  • Strong documentation skills for test results, defects, and technical concepts
  • Experience working with PLM systems for managing test artifacts and defect tracking
  • Familiarity with Agile practices (sprint planning, backlog refinement, defect tracking)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing or improving test frameworks and validation processes
  • Strong understanding of validation KPIs and coverage metrics
  • Familiarity with cloud-device integration architecture (telematics systems)
  • Experience building dashboards for test progress and quality tracking

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 2–3 validation engineers, including workload planning, task assignment, and performance oversight
  • Own end-to-end test execution including planning, execution, debugging, and reporting
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure alignment with project goals and priorities
  • Support OEM partners in integrating digital solutions from development through release
  • Design and enhance test strategies, including OTA and data acquisition validation scenarios
  • Drive test quality and coverage across projects, ensuring validation excellence
  • Develop automation tools to improve efficiency and expand test coverage
  • Collaborate with project managers to track timelines, risks, and critical issues
  • Define and deliver reusable test artifacts and coverage metrics
  • Establish test execution standards, including documentation, test bench management, and reporting
  • Maintain test artifacts, results, and defects within PLM systems
  • Work within Agile frameworks to ensure timely delivery and transparency
