About The Position

Turner & Townsend is seeking an accomplished Lead Utility Infrastructure Manager to oversee utility and power infrastructure workstreams within a major data center construction program. This role will oversee high‑capacity electrical delivery, redundancy planning, and critical backup systems required for large‑scale, mission‑critical facilities. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across planning, design, procurement, and delivery of complex utility infrastructure. Must be willing to travel regularly to project sites and client locations as required.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading utility, electrical infrastructure, or mission‑critical power programs within major construction environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of high‑capacity power distribution, redundancy planning, and large‑scale backup generation systems.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex stakeholder groups, and operate within large program structures.
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field required.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience overseeing contract management and major procurement packages.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior leadership across utility‑related scopes, ensuring alignment with overall program objectives, budget, and schedule.
  • Direct multidisciplinary teams delivering high‑capacity utility connections, redundant power feeds, and critical electrical infrastructure.
  • Serve as the primary interface with utility providers, major contractors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee governance, reporting, and risk management processes for utility workstreams.
  • Lead planning and execution of major power infrastructure for a multi‑phase data center development.
  • Guide coordination on diversified power feeds, high‑volume utility capacity, UPS redundancy strategies, and backup generation systems.
  • Provide oversight for works related to fuel storage, emergency continuity measures, and resilience planning.
  • Manage delivery challenges, technical interfaces, and regulatory considerations associated with high‑demand power systems.
  • Support procurement and commercial strategies related to long‑lead electrical equipment, utility packages, and mission‑critical MEP systems.
  • Oversee financial performance, cost forecasting, and contract administration for utility‑related scopes.
  • Evaluate changes, commercial risk, and value opportunities across the infrastructure program.
  • Engage at senior levels with project sponsors, utility companies, design partners, and delivery teams.
  • Present program updates, risk assessments, and utility‑specific reporting to executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and client governance procedures.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
