Lead Ultrasound Technologist (Tech) – St Francis Medical Center Job Summary: The Lead Ultrasound Tech performs the ultrasound exam or procedure study according to standard practices and procedures. The Lead Tech utilizes patient monitoring equipment during procedures and produces diagnostic images for interpretation and distribution to patients and physicians.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science Imaging (required)
  • Credentialed in Ultrasound technology by one of the following (required): Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care)
  • 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Tech (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Tech (preferred)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
  • Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge in workflows, procedures, and processes of the imaging modalities.
  • Maintains accreditation and regulatory compliance of Ultrasound department.
  • Confirms the quality, accuracy, and confidentiality of all pertinent patient and procedural data.
  • Responsible for patient documentation, procedure preparation and instructions.
  • Participates in performance improvement projects, and the education and training of staff.
  • Assists Radiology and Imaging Manager(s) in implementing departmental business strategies.
