About The Position

SUMMARY: To oversee and perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on medium and large trucks and application equipment. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the shop operates efficiently and meets quality standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in diesel mechanics preferred.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience working on medium to large trucks.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and associates.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
  • Evidence of work authorization upon employment is required in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
  • Completion of USCIS form I-9 will be required in order to verify employment eligibility within 3 business days of the first day of employment.
  • Potential hire will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of truck technicians, providing guidance and technical support.
  • Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on engines (Trucks and Application equipment), transmissions, electrical systems, and hydraulics, etc.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend vehicle life.
  • Assign work orders and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and DOT regulations.
  • Train team members on new technologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Adhere to all company and government safety policies and laws (i.e., viewing safety films, understanding right to know laws, fire, and explosion precautions, lock out - tag out, etc.)
  • Communicate with management regarding workflow, parts inventory, and equipment needs.
  • Communicate effectively with team regarding repair status and recommendations.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • All other duties assigned.
