About The Position

The Lead Trainer is a highly skilled individual contributor responsible for delivering and upholding the highest standards of operational training for BRINC’s sUAS platforms and DFR (Drone as First Responder) ecosystem. This role requires maintaining expert-level proficiency in BRINC hardware, software, and supporting technologies while serving as the primary trainer for an assigned U.S. region. The Training Lead ensures training excellence across BRINC’s network of regional contract trainers, overseeing their certification, performance, and readiness to support public safety partners. Operating with minimal supervision, this role reports directly to the Director of Training and requires up to 50% travel. Ideal candidates bring strong organizational discipline, a background in public safety training, and demonstrated experience working with specialized technologies and equipment relevant to police, fire, or emergency operations.

Requirements

  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required.
  • Demonstrated experience training public safety personnel, preferably in sUAS, tactical, or specialized technology/equipment environments.
  • Public safety background (law enforcement, fire/EMS, emergency management, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of DFR operational concepts, UAS regulations, and real-world public safety deployment considerations.
  • High competency in CRM platforms, data accuracy, and documentation workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills, including instructional presentation, hands-on demonstration, and scenario-based coaching.
  • Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgment, and prioritize multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organizational discipline with proven ability to maintain schedules, track progress, and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel and extended time in the field.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience managing or certifying contract trainers or training teams.
  • Advanced sUAS operating experience, including tactical flying, DFR system configuration, and incident-based operations.
  • Familiarity with BRINC systems and their operational deployment environment.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities for training performance and compliance tracking.
  • Technical troubleshooting skills related to UAS hardware/software or networked systems.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with public safety agencies and adjust training styles to differing operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary BRINC trainer for an assigned U.S. region, delivering high-quality instruction to public safety agencies
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of BRINC sUAS platforms, software applications, and full operational workflows.
  • Oversee, certify, and continually assess the proficiency of a cadre of regional contract trainers to ensure high training standards across all engagements.
  • Develop and maintain structured training documentation, certification materials, and evaluation rubrics.
  • Ensure accurate CRM documentation, data hygiene, and timely updates to training records and customer information.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Training and cross-functional teams to support program readiness, training scalability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide feedback loops to product, engineering, and operations teams based on field training observations.
  • Support training logistics, scheduling, and coordination for both internal and external training sessions.
  • Ensure all training activities reflect BRINC’s operational standards, safety practices, and customer-centric values.
  • Travel up to 50% to customer locations, regional hubs, and corporate offices as mission needs dictate.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for DFR workflows, public safety integration, and sUAS operational best practices.
