About The Position

At The Learning Experience® , we believe toddlers learn best through exploration, consistency, and positive relationships. Our Toddler Program is designed to support children as they develop independence, communication skills, social-emotional awareness, and confidence through intentional, play-based learning. We are seeking a Lead Toddler Teacher who is passionate about early childhood education, understands toddler development, and can create a structured yet nurturing classroom environment that supports both children and families. The Lead Toddler Teacher is responsible for leading a toddler classroom and implementing developmentally appropriate learning experiences aligned with The Learning Experience curriculum. This role requires an energetic, patient, and experienced educator who understands toddler behavior, routines, and the importance of guidance, consistency, and emotional support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or early learning center
  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or currently enrolled in an ECE associate’s degree program
  • Strong understanding of toddler development, behavior, and classroom management
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Patient, energetic, and nurturing teaching style
  • Ability to meet all state and center background clearance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment for toddlers
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, hands-on learning activities aligned with The Learning Experience curriculum
  • Support toddlers’ social-emotional development, communication, and independence
  • Establish and maintain consistent daily routines (meals, toileting/diapering, rest, transitions)
  • Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior management strategies
  • Observe, document, and assess children’s developmental progress
  • Maintain open, professional communication with families
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers in the classroom
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, health, and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development
