The Lead Teller is responsible for ensuring smooth and orderly operation of teller lines and related functions. Responsible for supervision of branch Teller staff. Responsible for end of day and end of month procedures. Assists members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments. Due to demonstrated knowledge and judgement, is entrusted with prescribed override authority. Cross-sells credit union products and services. Ensures that members are aware of electronic services, such as remote deposit capture, online banking, Bill Pay, e-statements, mobile app, and online loan approval. Ideal Characteristics: Strong leadership and coaching abilities: Proven experience supervising teams, conducting performance reviews, and providing ongoing training and support. Detail-oriented and accountable: Accurate handling of cash operations, balancing procedures, and resolving discrepancies (e.g., teller outages, audits, vault management). Excellent customer service and communication skills: Friendly, professional demeanor with ability to assist members effectively and promote credit union services. Trustworthy and composed under pressure: Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment for override authority, and ability to stay calm in high-stress situations (e.g., robbery protocol). Tech-savvy and process-driven: Comfortable with digital banking platforms, procedural compliance, and maintaining accurate reports and logs.
