About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of the Water Quality team. Routinely provides feedback to management on personnel issues and performance. Actively supports and implements daily/weekly/monthly planning and scheduling. Pursues training and learning opportunities in Mechanical, Electrical, Hazmat and Water testing disciplines. Actively promotes, engages and maintains positive working relationships with other departments and shifts in supporting department activities by performing duties assigned. Upholds and reinforces Universal policies and procedures, escalating concerns to management as necessary and ensures Team Member safety. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans and delegates work tasks. Supports, follows and implements Technical Services planning and scheduling for the assigned shift. Delegates work assignments among qualified Team Members. Communicates performance expectations in an effort to ensure proper completion of tasks; provides feedback for recognition and performance improvement. Manages down time recovery while maintaining composure and keeping the Team Members and Guests safe Actively reinforces company safety guidelines and programs; reports or corrects non-compliance. Monitors Team Member productivity and work habits. Leads work startup and stoppage and schedules breaks. Monitors care, condition, use and storage of tools, equipment, chemicals and other property daily. Maintains material inventory processes. Monitors compliance with wardrobe/grooming standards, driving policy, radio usage, and other policies. Ensures proper completion of documentation, ensuring accurate data entry and standardization daily. Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation Report to support Facilities Management documentation. Provides Team Member performance feedback to management. Communicates and coordinates across Technical Services and with other departments or crafts as needed to ensure smooth operations and Guest safety. Communicates resource needs and work plans to management. Provides two-way communication between work team, leadership and other management and HR personnel. Assists with seasonal weather condition sustainment initiatives as directed. Performs Water Quality Technician job duties, as described and as necessary to ensure labor coverage. Maintains and shares job knowledge and assists in developing Team Members. Actively participates in learning opportunities in Mechanical, Electrical, Hazmat and Water Treatment disciplines, consisting of training classes and hands-on training experiences with discipline other than own. Demonstrates adaptability and the ability to acquire skills in additional disciplines that benefit from their technical expertise, supporting a broader range of operational and project needs. Handles training of new and current Team Members and coordinates daily training needs. Provides training updates and follows up as necessary to ensure the completion of all proper documentation and adherence to Universal standards and procedures. Communicates resource needs and work plans to leadership for proper maintenance scheduling and support. Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • 6+ months of experience providing work direction is required
  • 5+ years of experience in water quality or a combination of related maintenance of mechanical, electrical systems, plumbing, regulated waste, emergency response, theme park water ride systems, storm water management is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Technical degree in related field is preferred.
  • Certified Pool Operator license is required within 180 days of employment (company provided).
  • Aquatic Facility Operator certification, Aquatic Pesticide Applicator’s license, SCUBA certification, and 24-hour HAZWOPER training are preferred.
