About The Position

The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for ensuring guest rooms and public areas meet established cleanliness, presentation, and safety standards before guest use. This role conducts detailed inspections, provides feedback to housekeeping staff, and supports training efforts to maintain consistent quality. At Universal Kids Resort, the Housekeeping Inspector plays a key role in creating a comfortable, family-friendly environment that exceeds guest expectations. The position also assists in addressing guest concerns and coordinating with other departments to ensure timely room readiness.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of housekeeping standards, cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and inspection techniques in a hotel or resort environment.
  • Ability to identify cleanliness and maintenance issues, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
  • Experience in housekeeping or custodial services, with prior experience performing room inspections or quality control preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to maintaining a high standard of guest readiness and presentation.
  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in housekeeping or hospitality operations is required, experience in room inspections or quality assurance is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects guest rooms, hallways, and public areas to ensure cleanliness, proper setup, and adherence to resort standards before releasing rooms for occupancy.
  • Leads quality assurance efforts throughout Universal Kids Resort’s onsite hotel.
  • Provides feedback and coaching to Room Attendants and Runners to support continuous improvement and consistency in service quality.
  • Effectively delivers on-the-spot coaching and helps ensure Team Members are aligned with Universal Kids Resort’s cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Communicates with the Front Office and Housekeeping leadership to ensure timely updates on room readiness and special guest requests.
  • Reports maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate department for resolution.
  • Collects lost and found items and delivers to Housekeeping Management for logging and storage in a timely manner.
  • Assists with training new Housekeeping Team Members on cleaning procedures, resort standards, and safety protocols.
  • Supports service recovery efforts by responding to guest concerns related to room cleanliness or setup.
  • Escalates any safety or guest concerns to Housekeeping Management as necessary.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
