About The Position

The Lead Technician is a working member of his/her crew with minimal clerical duties, and is directly responsible for the maintenance, workmanship and training of crew members under his/her direct oversight. A Lead Technician is selected for his/her high level of aviation maintenance expertise and enhanced focus on product integrity and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence) and 7 years MRO experience.
  • Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform supervisory duties as outlined in the RSQM and personnel roster.
  • Create work assignments for crew members and ensure all work is completed in an orderly and efficient manner.
  • Be able to ensure efficient tracking of all man-hours and materials assigned to jobs.
  • Will assist the Operations Manager in the performance evaluations of his/her crew members
  • Be able to assist in the evaluation process.
  • Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, co-workers, and customers.
  • Ensures all company and department policies, safety programs, 6S procedures, and continuous improvement processes are adhered to during the assigned shift.
  • Assist in resolving personnel issues by working with appropriate management staff and being receptive to crew members.
  • Maintain current awareness of regulations and technical data through regular familiarization of current airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and internal procedures for work assigned.
  • Be familiar with and familiarize all personnel under his/her supervision with procedures set forth by the Repair Station and Quality Manual and shall ensure that the methods set forth within the manuals are followed.
  • Assure inspection, testing, and measuring equipment used on aircraft applications are properly and regularly calibrated and shall submit for processing any calibrated equipment found out-of-calibration, as required the Calibration Procedure.
  • Assure parts received from stock are identified with proper maintenance release tags, or in the case of a shelf-life material, they are not expired.
  • Be responsible for all phases of work and ensure that all work is processed through the repair station in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Verify inspection forms, discrepancy reports, required FAA forms, maintenance releases, and log entries relating to his/her work and work by maintenance personnel under his/her supervision are completed properly and are processed through the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Advise the Director of Quality Assurance of any unairworthy conditions or practices contrary to the Repair Station and Quality Manuals or current Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities can be assigned/delegated by management as deemed necessary.
