About The Position

Facilitates  UC’s  success  and  growth  in  academic  and people  skills through implementing  ORR  approved curriculum;  documenting  teaching  and  student progress/activities/outcomes;  addressing  specific educational  needs  of individual  students  and  by creating a  flexible, safe, and  optimal  learning  environment;  and providing  feedback  to  ORR  and management regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s  degree  (B.S.)  in  education  or  related  major;  teaching  certificate;  or  equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business  correspondence  and  procedure  manuals.  Effectively  present  information  and  respond  to questions from managers, customers and the public.
  • Comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, algebra and advanced statistical theory. Work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.
  • Apply  logical  thinking  to  a  wide  range  of  intellectual  and  practical  problems.  Deal  with  nonverbal symbolism (e.g., formulas and equations) in difficult phases. Deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proficient in the use of standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and administers curriculum consistent with age level goals and objectives.
  • Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
  • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experience to best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student’s needs, including student with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
  • Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current development in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings or by conducting research.
  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, and achievements.
  • Selects any requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
