About The Position

FORVIA - HELLA is seeking its next great Lead Systems Engineer to join our growing body control team. The primary function of this position will be to partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive the development of our current and next generation product designs. This role will provide the opportunity to execute state-of-the-art engineering focused on enabling the present and future of mobility. Daily Responsibilities Own and manage product development processes using ASPICE and working alongside project managers, analysts, architects, requirements engineers, test engineers, change & problem managers, configuration and release engineers. Be a direct technical customer interface and overall accountable for the delivery of a fully compliant product based on the specified Customer and Stakeholder requirements and constraints. Drive the collaboration of cross-functional international, intercultural stakeholders. Own technical risks and opportunity management in the projects. Lead new program acquisition, current program development and production program design changes.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated engineer with Systems Mindset and strong sense of responsibility who enjoys solving problems on daily basis and holds a bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or similar.
  • You are characterized by a high level of identification with leadership roles, and you feel personally responsible for achieving the project goals, from planning to delivery with minimum next level management intervention.
  • 5+ years of accumulated relevant experience in automotive ECU development in a leading role.
  • Good command of project technical scope definition, effort/cost estimation, product maturity and product development timelines.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) with emphasis on international, intercultural teams’ coordination.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a strong ability to analyze complex systems and abstract perspectives to simplify communication with senior leadership stakeholders.
  • Interest, ability and willingness to collaborate in-person in Detroit metropolitan area travel domestically and internationally. Travel < 20%.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of combined hands-on experience in automotive electrical HW design, mechanical Design, Embedded Software Development, product verification & validation, and requirements engineering.
  • Previous exposure to tools and methods such as ASPICE, ISO26262, cyber security, FMEA.
  • INCOSE CSEP or equivalent.
