About The Position

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the evaluation, design, selection , installation, implementation, maintenance, training,  and documentation of all voice and data networking, as well as all data center and cloud architecture. This includes but is not limited to all servers, storage technology, desktop and laptop computers, wired and wireless networking hardware including firewalls, routers, switches, access points, etc., and cloud-based services including voice and data, applications, security, etc. This also includes all voice technology including PBX, VOiP, desktop phone set s, etc.  The Senior System Engineer also will be responsible for the hiring and development of junior system engineers.

Requirements

  • Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems.
  • Interpersonal skill s such as: telephony skills, exceptional written and oral communication skills, active listening, and customer-care.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Service awareness of all organization' s key IT services for which support is being provided.
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services.
  • Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details (45+ WPM).
  • Self -motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment .

  • Advanced Net working (TCP/IP, DNS, routing , subnetting, vlan, etc.)

  • Relevant certifications (MS, CCNA, CISSP, etc.)
  • At least six years of relevant experience
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • 4-year Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in customer service
  • Exceptional communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Project Management of all IT related infrastructure projects.
  • Responsible for the selection and supervision of vendors and/ or consultants on the IT projects.
  • IT Support relating to technical issues involving IT infrastructure including hardware and operating systems.
  • Expert technical support at the data center level: servers, storage technology, etc.
  • Expert technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security.
  • Expert remote access solution implementation and support: VPN, Terminal Services, Citrix, etc.
  • Select ion and implementation of various remote monitoring and management systems including alerts/notifications, and response via service tickets.
  • System documentation including physical and logical network topology maps, data center drawings of all hardware and applications supported, desktop/ laptop system builds, layered cyber security architecture, etc.
  • Communication with customers as required: effectively communicating incident progress, notification of impending changes or agreed outages
  • Design, implementation and testing of a disaster recovery and business continuity solution.
