About The Position

The Lead Faculty – Certification Coordinator within the Surgical Technology Program works with students upon successful completion of the specific program milestones. This role is responsible for developing individual remediation and study plans that focus on progression and overall certification examination readiness. The Lead Faculty – Certification & Licensure Coordinator makes recommendations to the Program Chair for the determination of student readiness for certification and licensure examinations. Also, this role is credentialed and approved as faculty for the appointed program of study and is expected to complete teaching assignments within the scope of the University faculty workload policy. The Lead Faculty – Certification & Licensure Coordinator may supervise coaches that are assigned to assisting student readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline, Master's degree preferred
  • Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency
  • Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCAA)
  • Have at least 2 years of experience in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology (or a combination of both) within the past 5 years.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills necessary to maintain positive, professional interactions with students, alumni, faculty, and employer partners.
