Lead Summer Tutor/Mentor (Student Worker Paraprofessional Senior)
About The Position
This position is responsible for providing leadwork direction to the tutor/mentors, as well as acting as a tutor/mentor to the high school students in grades 9-12 on the campus of Central Lakes College who attend the five week Upward Bound summer program designed to provide academic and cultural experiences that will support their goals of attending a postsecondary institution. Students live in a residence hall for five weeks during the summer program. This position is designed to provide students in secondary, post-secondary, and graduate study with employment that assists them in reaching identifiable educational goals.
Requirements
- At least two years of post-secondary education.
- Currently enrolled in secondary, post-secondary, or graduate study programs.
- Knowledge of Upward Bound, residential hall, and/or camp counselor programming.
- Ability to guide and direct work activities to achieve work area goals.
- Ability to communicate effectively to develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Successful completion of a background check.

- Experience or current studies in tutoring, counseling, education, or a related field.
