About The Position

As a Lead MDM Engineer (Stibo STEP), you will be a hands-on technical owner of Stitch Fix’s Stibo STEP platform, sitting at the intersection of engineering, merchandising, styling, and operations. Your work will directly enable how products are onboarded, enriched, governed, and surfaced across the business, powering critical workflows and client-facing experiences. You will own the full lifecycle of product catalog and MDM solutions, from design and delivery through production support and continuous improvement. Partnering closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and engineering and data science, you will help shape platform direction and ensure Stitch Fix’s product data is accurate, scalable, and ready to support growth.

Requirements

• You have 7+ years of hands-on experience with the Stibo STEP MDM/PIM platform in a retail or eCommerce environment.
• You have 2+ years of experience as a technical leader, including leading projects and owning delivery outcomes.
• You bring strong technical depth across STEP configuration, JavaScript-based business rules, SQL, and data modeling, with a strong grasp of REST APIs and integration patterns (e.g., Kafka, ETL processes).
• You have strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills to identify data-driven and holistic solutions.
• You can break down complex business needs into actionable plans, prioritizing high-impact work, and clearly communicating decisions and tradeoffs to technical and business partners.
• You take ownership of operational excellence by participating in on-call rotations, resolving production incidents, and improving system reliability over time.
• You enjoy mentoring and coaching engineers and seeing them learn and grow
• You are flexible and curious

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver initiatives that have real business impact for a mission-critical product catalog platform in a high scale environment.
• Drive complex initiatives by breaking work into clear milestones and proactively communicating progress, risks, and tradeoffs with partners and leadership.
• Influence platform strategy and data governance standards, shaping how product data powers Stitch Fix’s most critical workflows.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams across merchandising, styling, product, and operations to solve complex data problems with AI-driven use cases.
• Work in a highly collaborative environment that values thoughtful system design and operational excellence.
