About The Position

The Lead Steward oversees the stewarding (dishwashing and sanitation) team and ensures the cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of all kitchen and service areas. This role supports kitchen operations by maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-organized back-of-house environment while enforcing health, safety, and cleanliness standards.

Requirements

  • Previous steward or dishwashing experience required; leadership experience preferred
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards, chemical handling, and workplace safety
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively with diverse teams
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
  • Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.
  • Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated items, according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
