About The Position

Mfinite Consulting is seeking an experienced and Maryland Licensed First Grade Stationary Engineer to support critical power plant operations in a high-demand facility environment. This role is ideal for a skilled engineer with extensive boiler and chiller plant experience who thrives in fast-paced operational settings and is committed to maintaining safe, efficient, and uninterrupted plant performance. The selected candidate will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining gas/oil-fired boilers, centrifugal chillers, and auxiliary systems that support facility-wide heating and cooling operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Maryland First Grade Stationary Engineer License required
  • Minimum 5 years of boiler room/central plant operations experience
  • At least 3 years of experience operating boilers over 500 horsepower and chillers exceeding 500 tons
  • Strong working knowledge of: Boiler and chiller systems
  • Electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • OSHA and industrial safety standards
  • Ability to read gauges, meters, and control systems accurately
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and industrial plant environments
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
  • This facility operates 24 hours per day / 7 days per week , and candidates must be flexible to work rotating shifts: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM Additional overtime, holiday, weekend, and emergency coverage may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate boilers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, and related auxiliary equipment safely and efficiently
  • Monitor gauges, meters, and system controls to maintain proper operating conditions
  • Record operational readings, maintenance logs, and inventory usage accurately
  • Conduct chemical testing on boiler and make-up water systems
  • Adjust chemical feed systems and monitor water treatment processes as needed
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues to maintain plant reliability
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety standards, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements
  • Support emergency operations, overtime coverage, and special maintenance activities as required
