Delta Dental Plan of Michigan, Inc. seeks a full-time Lead SQL Server Database Administrator based in Farmington Hills, MI. The Lead SQL Server Database Administrator leads, oversees, and coordinates the installation, patching, performance, security, and capacity management of database management systems for the enterprise. Acts as a subject matter expert for one or more database management systems providing guidance on best practices and operational support of those platforms. Specific duties include: 1) Oversees team adherence to ITIL processes and procedures, SQL Server best practices, and Security protocols. 2) Leads and coordinates team response to vulnerability findings, adhering to strict protection level agreements, including but not limited to HIPAA/HITRUST, CMMC, SOC II. 3) Designs, and manages robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity and minimize data loss. 4) Collaborates with stakeholders from the business, application development, data, and architecture teams to implement new solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business. 5) Plans, coordinates, and executes database and application upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime. 6) Conducts proactive capacity planning to forecast future storage, performance, and resource needs based on usage trends and business growth. 7) Provides expert-level technical support, incident management, and root-cause analysis for complex production issues. 8) Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for database standards, architecture, and operational procedures. Responsible for deciding all updates to standards, processes, and procedures and signing off on all documentation created by other team members. 9) Assists with recruitment selection, training, and mentoring of team.
