Coordinates all activities of the payroll specialist, assists administration and accounting functions required for bi-weekly payroll. Responsible for ensuring confidentiality is strictly maintained concerning all agency related information. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Works with Payroll Manager to ensure all staff jobs are streamlined for maximum job performance and timeliness. Covers for the Payroll Manager when they are not available. Responsible for ensuring that all necessary tasks for an accurate payroll are completed by the payroll team on a bi-weekly basis. Coordinates and imports all employees change forms within the organization and ensures accuracy of all transactions. Organizes daily payroll responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow for payroll staff. Make judgments and search for solutions by interpreting guidelines and regulations. Provides information to management as needed. Assists in the annual audit and provides any needed information. Assists in the assessment, development and implementation of payroll policy and procedures. Completes training for all new hires and existing payroll specialists. Assists with answering payroll related questions from payroll specialists and other employees. Process supplemental payroll on a bi-weekly basis and complete emergency checks when needed. Organizes and distributes payroll emails to payroll specialists and management team. Responsible for ensuring payroll specialist training material and guides are updated quarterly with new policies and procedures. Creates and runs reports in Cognos when needed.
