About The Position

This role aligns closely with GE Aerospace's FLIGHT DECK principles, particularly the focus on Safety First under the Respect for People behavior. The EHS Operations Leader will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, reducing risks, and fostering a safe and efficient workplace. This role requires a proactive leader who can apply lean tools, problem-solving, and action planning to drive impactful results while prioritizing safety and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in environmental/health safety.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental /health safety.
  • Technical knowledge and familiarity with safety regulations, such as those from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is essential (e.g. OSHA 10 or 30)
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

  • Characterize and predict hazards, understand and fortify layers of safety and validate defenses to drive a zero-incident culture
  • Accountable for EHS daily management across the shops. Facilitate Problem Solving, Action Planning and Kaizen Events to shore up and/or continuously improve Operational Safety and EHS performance
  • Drive rigid Management of Change (MOC) rigor on system-altering processes prior to implementation
  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Utilizes understanding of industry trends to inform decision making process.
