The Lead Software Engineer II plays an important role in building and enhancing engineering solutions across the organization. This role focuses on designing and delivering reliable, high-quality frontend software while contributing to technical discussions, improving engineering practices, and supporting team execution. You will work closely with senior engineers, Product, and Design/UX to build performant, maintainable, and user-focused features and applications.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of professional frontend software engineering experience.
  • Expertise with Angular (preferred), React, or Vue at scale.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, including experience with advanced typing and generics.
  • Strong understanding of reactive programming patterns and state management, with experience in libraries such as RxJS, NgRx, Vuex/Pinia, or Redux.
  • Strong proficiency in CSS/SCSS, HTML, responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile-first development.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs, third-party SDKs, and embedded widgets within single-page applications, including complex asynchronous workflows.
  • Experience designing and contributing to reusable component libraries and shared internal packages (NPM preferred).
  • Experience with unit testing (Vitest, Jest, Jasmine, or similar).
  • Experience working within mature, legacy codebases and contributing to incremental modernization efforts.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver high-quality software iteratively and incrementally.
  • Take ownership of key components and features—from hands-on coding to deployment and monitoring.
  • Contribute to frontend observability using tools like Datadog and Fullstory for error tracking, performance monitoring, and user session analysis.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute architectural insights, working with senior leaders to shape solutions.
  • Ensure software follows modern engineering practices, including clean code, testing, automation, and modern frontend architecture patterns.
  • Support continuous improvement in code quality, reliability, performance, and developer experience.
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical tasks and help validate assumptions and approaches.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Product, and Design/UX to deliver well-aligned solutions.
  • Contribute to a culture of learning, curiosity, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
