About The Position

We are hiring a Lead Software Engineer – AI Platforms & SaaS Solutions to help build the next generation of Honeywell’s Life safety platforms. The ideal candidate should bring strong experience in software engineering, cloud-native SaaS platforms, cloud diagnostics solutions, and new product introduction (NPI), along with 2+ years of hands-on experience building agentic AI / AI workplace solutions. This leader will help define, build, and launch scalable AI-enabled platform capabilities that drive intelligent workflows, diagnostics, and next-generation cloud services for connected life safety products. You will report directly to our Director, Software Engineering and you’ll work out of our Atlanta, GA location on a Hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will impact the business by deriving actionable insights that optimize processes, reduce costs, and identify growth opportunities, positioning Honeywell at the forefront of data-driven innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field
  • Significant experience in software engineering, cloud platform development, or SaaS application development
  • At least 2+ years of experience developing agentic AI / AI workplace / AI-enabled workflow solutions
  • Proven experience delivering successful new product introductions (NPI) to market
  • Strong experience building and scaling SaaS platforms
  • Experience developing cloud-based diagnostics, monitoring, or remote service solutions
  • Strong programming experience in modern languages such as Python, Java, C#, or similar
  • Experience building and deploying solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures
  • Demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams and convert complex business problems into scalable technical solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline
  • Experience with AI/ML, LLMs, generative AI, copilots, RAG, or agent-based systems
  • Experience building enterprise-grade platforms with strong focus on availability, security, and performance
  • Strong understanding of data pipelines, MLOps, observability, model integration, and production AI operations
  • Experience in predictive analytics, anomaly detection, diagnostics, IoT, or digital twin environments
  • Experience with containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices
  • Experience in life safety, building automation, industrial automation, or other mission-critical domains
  • Strong product mindset with the ability to link software architecture decisions to customer value and commercial outcomes
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of next-generation software capabilities for life safety solutions
  • Build and scale AI-enabled platform services, intelligent workflows, and cloud-native application capabilities that drive customer and business value
  • Develop and enhance SaaS platform architecture supporting diagnostics, monitoring, predictive insights, and decision support
  • Design and implement agentic AI / AI workplace solutions, including intelligent assistants, workflow automation, recommendations, and orchestration services
  • Partner closely with product management, software engineering, UX, cloud, and business leaders to define requirements, technical roadmaps, and MVP execution plans
  • Drive new product introduction (NPI) efforts from concept through prototyping, validation, launch, and market adoption
  • Build highly scalable, secure, and reliable cloud services using modern software engineering practices
  • Develop cloud diagnostics solutions for connected devices, systems, and enterprise applications
  • Establish engineering best practices for software quality, observability, performance, maintainability, and operational excellence
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across architecture, design reviews, and implementation
  • Stay current with advances in AI, cloud, and platform engineering to help shape the long-term innovation strategy for the business
