Provides direction to co-workers to ensure that all shipping documents and functions are completed in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures that the least cost carrier is selected and used as the appropriate transporter. Maximizes parcel weight through combining product to be shipped to the same customer. Essential Job Functions Sorts packages and uses a hand scanner to determine shipment status Checks boxes to ensure they are sealed, properly labeled and free from any damage; makes sure all quality standards are met Demonstrates “role model” work habits and fosters teamwork within the department Enhances team morale – discusses issues and suggestions with Area Manager and follows up with team members. Conducts on-the-job training and provides constructive feedback to employees Continually seeks opportunities to improve department operations Encourages team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment Achieves and maintains certifications required to operate equipment necessary within assigned department. Performs safety checks prior to use. Reports machine problems to Area Manager.
