About The Position

The Lead Shipping Associate is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient processing of outbound orders. This role provides guidance and support to shipping team members, maintains compliance with company policies and safety standards, and collaborates with warehouse leadership to meet organizational goals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • 1+ year of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Forklift certification is required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Consistent and timely attendance.
  • Work in an environment that is noisy, dusty and may contain spices with high heat intensity and allergens.
  • Physically demanding role: standing, walking, lifting, bending for most of the shift.
  • Withstand working in warehouse environment with cold and hot temperatures for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perceive and respond to auditory cues, including speech, horns, and machinery alarms, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity, including near and far vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision, to safely operate a forklift, read labels and signage, and navigate around equipment, products, and personnel in a dynamic warehouse environment.
  • Must be able to read and write in English to understand shipping instructions and complete documentation.
  • May require overtime, weekend shifts, or flexible scheduling depending on shipping volume.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of shipping associates in day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate and oversee order preparation, packaging, labeling, and documentation.
  • Train, mentor, and coach new and existing team members.
  • Communicate with carriers and internal departments regarding shipping schedules and issues.
  • Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and reconciliation when needed.
  • Pick, pack and prepare outbound shipments according to customer and carrier specifications.
  • Accurately label and document shipments.
  • Enter shipping information into inventory or warehouse management log.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized shipping and receiving area.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment safely (if trained and certified).
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Follow all GMP’s according to company policies and procedures.
