About The Position

The Lead Security Personnel is responsible for leading Crossing Healthcare’s security needs. Position Status This is a part-time, non-exempt position. The Lead Security Personnel reports to the Chief Human Resource/Operations Officer (CHROO).

Requirements

  • Must be retired, with the Decatur Police Department, Macon County Sheriffs Office or other police department within 45 miles of Crossing Healthcare
  • working at a healthcare facility with knowledge of day-to-day operations, workflows and patient traffic patterns.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to remain calm and objective under stressful conditions
  • Ability to speak and write fluently in English
  • Ability to think broadly and creatively and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Basic proficiency with office equipment including computers and commonly used software
  • Cooperative attitude and ability to work with others
  • Moderate physical effort or strenuous activity other than incidental walking, standing, bending, reaching and carrying loads (up to 25 lbs.)
  • Ability to work in conditions that include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissues, contagious diseases and other potentially hazardous materials

Responsibilities

  • Lead Security Personnel working on the Crossing Healthcare campus, including orientation and other necessary trainings, scheduling, and annual evaluations.
  • Assist Security Personnel with day to day duties as needed.
  • Communicate performance feedback related to any direct reports to Chief Human Resource/Operations Officer.
  • Assist the Director of Compliance to ensure all Crossing Healthcare facilities maintain compliance with environment of care regulations.
  • Maintain and conduct monthly and yearly facility audits & assessments as recommended by the Director of Compliance.
  • Monitors work orders in Facility Manager’s absence.
  • Listed as contact for: Fire and Security Alarm notifications. Eligible for monthly phone allowance.
  • Understand and reinforce adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Communicate recommendations for policy and procedure revisions to Chief Human Resource/Operations Officer.
  • Conduct investigations of security related incidents and ensure proper adherence to documentation requirements.
  • Interface and correspond with regulatory and outside law enforcement agencies as appropriate.
  • Participate in internal/external meetings and committees as appropriate. Responds to unusual or emergency situations on the Crossing Healthcare Campus using the appropriate escalation of force level.
  • Observes and reports activities and incidents, providing for the security and safety of Crossing Healthcare property, staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Makes periodic campus and building tours to check for irregularities and inspects security devices.
  • Preserves order and acts to enforce laws, regulations, and directives pertaining to staff, patients, visitors, and premises.
  • Patrols assigned site on foot, checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations.
  • Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to Director of Security and Facilities as appropriate.
  • Performs other related work as required or requested.
